PILOT PROECT
Supervision & Oversight of Independent Support Coordinators
As part of an array of supports for adults with a developmental disability in Kent County (Michigan), a partnership has been established between Network 180 and Independent Support & Supervision Services, LLC. (IS&SS) to provide quality services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Launched in January 2011, this pilot
project is guided by the principles of self determination. The project supports the
shift of power from the system to the individuals, guardians, and/or
family. The impact of self directed plans of service with individual
service budgets has proven to be fiscally conservative and beneficial to
individuals receiving services.
IS&SS supervises and oversees Independent Supports Coordinators as they coordinate supports for individuals with developmental disabilities, their family and/or guardian to ensure that goals and objectives identified in plans of service developed from the person centered plan are achieved.
This Pilot Project is currently open to individuals in Kent County who participate in a Self Directed/Employer of Record, using a fiscal intermediary.
